Otto the English Bulldog Sets a Guinness World Record on a Skateboard
In what is perhaps the cutest world record ever, this adorably talented bulldog just skated his way into Guinness. The 3-year-old English bulldog snagged the title of “Longest human tunnel travelled through by a dog skateboarder,” gliding between 30 pairs of legs in Lima, Peru.
His owners Luciana Viale and Robert Rickards were inspired to teach their pup this amazing trick after watching videos of Tillman, the former fastest skateboarding dog, who sadly passed away in October.
1. Otto the English Bulldog
Otto the English Bulldog became a global star when he set a Guinness World Record for skateboarding through a human tunnel of 30 people in Lima, Peru. The three-year-old dog gliding through the legs of people who stood facing one another with their feet apart to form a human tunnel, without being led or touched, stunned onlookers.
Bulldogs are great at skateboarding because of their low center of gravity and wide stance. They are also known for their courage and affinity for the sport, which made it easy for Otto to master his skills.
Otto’s owners Luciana Viale and Robert Rickards were inspired to get a bulldog after seeing videos of Tillman, the former fastest skateboarding dog who died in 2015. They say their pup had no trouble learning how to skateboard because it came naturally to him. Since his success, Otto has been using his fame to raise awareness for responsible pet ownership and support organisations that promote adoption.

Despite being a dog, Otto has a talent for skateboarding that has now set him a Guinness World Record. The three-year-old bulldog managed to skate through the legs of 30 people, who stood with their legs apart, in Lima, Peru. The dog used his front paw to steer and leaped from side to side.

Rickards and Viale have even created a Facebook page for their beloved Otto, which has over 23,000 likes. It’s not the first time a dog has made it into the records book, but they are convinced the world will be amazed by his skating skills. The record attempt was done in celebration of Guinness World Records Day.
3. Otto’s trainer Robert Rickards
As Guinness World Record Day came around, Luciana Viale and her husband Robert Rickards decided to see what their bulldog could do on a skateboard. They had been inspired to get Otto after watching videos of Tillman, the former fastest skateboarding dog, who sadly passed away in 2015.
In Lima, Peru, a crowd cheered as Otto effortlessly glided through 30 pairs of legs. As the rules dictated, each pair of legs had to be three feet apart and no one touched or led the three-year-old dog.
He managed to shift his balance expertly and make his way through the tunnel without any problems. Afterwards, his owners couldn’t stop smiling as they presented him with an official certificate.
Skateboarding is just one of Otto’s many talents, however. He can also skimboard and surf. He and his owners have set up a Facebook page that showcases all his tricks. There, he has more than 23,000 followers. Their page is full of funny photos and videos of the canine superstar.
4. Otto’s video
In celebration of the 11th annual Guinness World Records Day, a 3-year-old bulldog named Otto skated his way into the history books. The canine in Peru glided through the legs of 30 humans lined up in a tunnel, setting the record for “Longest human tunnel traveled through by a dog skateboarder.”
Otto’s owner Luciana Viale told Guinness that she taught her pooch this trick after watching videos of Tillman, another English Bulldog who became a YouTube sensation for his skating skills but sadly died in October.
